About the University
The Central University of Jammu (CUJ) came into existence on August 08, 2011 and was established under the Central Universities Act, 2009 (Act No.25 of 2009 read with the Central Universities Act, 2009). The first academic session (2011-2012) commenced with three post graduate courses and at present university is offering various undergraduate/ Postgraduate/ PhD/ Diploma/Certification programmes through its University Departments and Centres. The University is fully functional from its permanent campus located at Village Rahya – Suchani (Bagla) in District Samba of J&K, approximately 24 km away from the Jammu-Tawi Railway Station, 25 km from the Jammu Airport, and around 7 km from the National Highway. The campus is well connected through local and state transport. Central University of Jammu epitomizes an inclusive and pluralistic institution of higher learning. The faculty and students are collectively community is committed to discovering and sharing knowledge, as well as addressing the challenges that our world is facing.
